Colophon - the magazine of the Australian Society of Calligraphers
The first edition of Colophon was published in December 1980 with Ethna Gallgher as Editor. Volume Number One became the Official News Letter of the Australian Society of Calligraphers. Colophon remains as originally intended to be published four times a year in March, June, September and December. It has however, evolved significantly over the years since that first black and white edition. In 1989 the cover, which for many years had been black, white and red, was printed in full colour for the first time. The paper and printing quality improved and photographs became the rule rather than the exception. In June 1996 the largest edition so far was printed with 28 colour pages inside and in the year 2000 the first issue with digitally manipulated calligraphic images was produced. Today, Colophon is a professionally produced, quality publication featuring articles, information and images, which keep our members informed and inspired. So, if you are not already a member, join the ASC and receive this members only magazine and keep up to date with calligraphic happenings and workshops, get tips and be inspired by others. |
