Running Book Hand is a simpler, less formal and therefore more easily written version of Edward Johnston’s Foundational Hand. It still follows the same letter shapes, pen angle and letter height.
In this workshop we will look at the historical basis for this script; 9th and 10th C. English and French Carolingian minuscule, and discover why this style is still so relevant today, before we attempt the alphabet in lower case form only. Capitals will come later. This workshop is suitable for beginners or those with little experience.
