Line is the key element of lettering design and is one of the most important visual elements we use as calligraphers. Line is the recorded movement of a mark or dot from one point to another. A line can be short, long, curved, straight, angular or rounded, thick or thin
In this workshop we will study line, looking at historical examples for inspiration to find patterns of line, geometric structure, rhythm, gesture and quality of line.
We will explore the relationship lines have with each other, using various tools and mediums both traditional and experimental.
